By Neal Burgis, Ph.D. Barry, a middle manager for Lawrence Brooks & Associates, has a big office with a huge desk. He has a pen holder, a business card holder, and three pictures of his family on his desk. On his walls he has a few paintings, and he keeps his accomplished recognition certificates in his desk drawer. Barry is a quiet guy when he talks about his accomplishments, but when he discusses business with others, he knows everything about his industry. How would it feel to get a big assignment or a big promotion due to your tooting your own horn? Very few of us feel comfortable enough to actually promote ourselves in the workplace. Too often we defeat our self-promotion efforts by assuming that other people wont be interested in what we do, or by carried over childhood notions that its not polite to brag about ourselves and our accomplishments. The phrase self-promotion means to draw attention to yourself for your own good deeds or accomplishments. Do you ever intentionally seek to draw others attention to yourself when you do something nice for someone else? Do you find it difficult to talk about yourself and your business because you consider it as bragging? How often have you heard others say you should have an Elevator Speech about your business? Telling others what you do well and how proud you are of what you do makes others aware of your accomplishments. These are the things that helps shape your career and the perception of who you are. You can let others know of your accomplishments without sounding like a braggart. The barometer of your success is being proud of yourself and your achievements. You are an expert at what you do because it is exciting and fulfilling. If these two things are not true, you would not be doing what you are doing! But to be successful, you need to let other people know about your expertise and your enthusiasm and blow your own horn. Theres nothing wrong with self-promotion. For those in the entertainment business, self-promotion is very important and key to their success. What if everyone in your workplace had the potential to show what they can do? What is wrong with some self-promotion? Think about it! You work hard and devote long hours to getting ahead. You are passionate in the work you do. Just like entertainers, you are an expert and good at what you do. The hallmark of your accomplishments show who you are. So why not shout it to everyone you know? The problem is that many of us are uncomfortable with self-promotion, especially in the workplace. As you grew up, your parents told you not to brag about yourself to others. Times have changed, and to get ahead in todays changing work environment, you have to put yourself out there. You are great at talking to others about your work, but how many times do you find that when you talk about your work are you enthusiastic about your accomplishments? Most of the time, you probably do not want to show off or brag about yourself. Here are some ways you can begin practicing the art of self-promotion. 1. Reflect on Your Own Professional Accomplishments: Two things come to mind here: First, write your own Elevator Speech and listen to the way it sounds and how you feel when you say it. What is it that you are proud of? What awards or recognition did you receive? What would you say to a decision-maker if you only had a minute or two? Second, make a list of your skills and accomplishments. Then write down the top 3-5 accomplishments of which you are most proud. Promote yourself in these areas, and start blowing your own horn about these accomplishments. For example, you are the best negotiator in your department, and you negotiated a big deal for yourself and your company. Or you landed a big account that will move you forward in your career. If so, tell others about how you got the account. (If this is too much for you to handle, then start by telling only a little of what positives took place for you.) 2. Goal Setting: A good starting point to self-promotion is to set a goal and make a plan to become one of the very best people in your field or at least in your workplace. Decide what you would like to be known for. The better you get and the more respected you become, the more you will be the go-to person for your expertise. Develop the essential skills that you need to be in the top 20 percent in your field or of your workplace. 3. Learn a New Skill: Gain a new skill or technique that relates to your job. This might be something different that your co-workers do not have or know about. You then become the expert in this area. Your talents, whether they are newly acquired or something you have created, put you in a better position for others to know you are the go-to person in this particular area. 4. Feel Comfortable: Many people feel uncomfortable about blowing their own horn as a self-promoting technique, especially in the workplace. You cant afford to be bashful in todays business climate. No matter what your product or service is, "toot your own horn" and you may soon find business opportunities will come your way. When you meet someone for the first time, people typically ask, What do you do? Most people answer with their job title. This does nothing to enhance the value of what you do. Instead of telling people, I work for XYZ Company in customer service, one woman said, I make angry people happy. Last month, I made sure 23 disgruntled people stayed with us.. 5. Adjust Your Attitude: If you do not blow your own horn and market yourself, who will? Most successful professionals will tell you that they do not always feel confident in talking about themselves. They have to push themselves. The example given in step 4 lets others know that she is doing something right to keep people. Accept Compliments: Simply say Thank you and then be quiet. Speak Well of Others: Do not bad-mouth others either for promoting themselves or for their accomplishments, or to promote yourself or make yourself look better. This will only backfire in the long term. 6. Promote Yourself with Confidence: Most people do not always feel comfortable sharing their good fortune. Being able to articulate them with confidence comes from practice. It is one thing to recognize your accomplishments, but it is another to express them with confidence. As much as possible, weave your accomplishments into conversations when it is appropriate to do so. 7. Get Your Name Out There: Every day when you look around, think about how you can get name recognition by either getting an award for one thing or another, obtaining a new client, speaking on a topic of interest to you, getting an article in your companys newsletter, writing a newspaper article, or even getting a book published,. Self-promotion is recognized as one of the most important attributes for getting ahead. As much as possible, do not mention your same accomplishment over and over to the same people. Otherwise, people will consider it as bragging. It is great to point out someone elses accomplishments. Just make sure you do not use it as an excuse to put yourself down. Tell others what you do well and what you are most proud of. That is what self-promotion is. Self-promotion not only makes other people aware of your accomplishments and expertise, but it also shapes their perceptions of you.
Outside of your company, spread the word why people should be doing business with you instead of someone else. Remember Barry? What if all he changed was that he hung the recognition certificates on his wall? This would be a great start in his self-promotion. Now when he is asked about the certificates, he has the perfect opening to begin tooting his own horn. With a little practice, he will feel comfortable in self-promoting without first being asked a question about a certificate. With his business knowledge, he will find himself moving faster and farther up the corporate ladder than he ever thought he would. Remember that when it comes to your career, an unwillingness to share your accomplishments may cost you the positions, pay, and promotions you deserve. Toot your own horn and point out your achievements; otherwise others may never notice you and what you can do. Be proud of your accomplishments as it can advance you in your career and in your life. Be willing to tout those small and large kudos and the feathers in your cap whenever you can because it can fuel your future success. Antigua Offshore Banking
By Eric Morris For many commercial businesses, offshore banking has its attractions. Most people may raise their eyebrows at offshore banking and think it is illegal and unethical. But they cannot be further from the truth. Creating and depositing money in offshore banks are not illegal. In fact, in this fast-paced and globalized economy, many corporations and even individuals find it necessary to have accounts in foreign banks. These transactions are, of course, regulated by international laws, as well as subject to the host countrys sovereign rule and policies. The most popular offshore banking destinations for commercial entities is Antigua and Barbuda. In recent years, the Government of Antigua and Barbuda has implemented regulations that protect its image as a safe and ethical depository of foreign currencies. It has amended its International Business Corporation Act and the Money-Laundering (Prevention) Act. This is to continue the Islands amicable relationships with the rest of the worlds financial communities and institutions. Among the adjustments and guidelines included is the periodic inspection of all offshore banking transactions. The banks would also need to have detailed records on all their clients readily available. Moreover, the banks are also not allowed to process deposits and withdrawals for individuals or companies not registered as an accountholder. The Government will also have the right to confiscate the deposit of any convicted money launderer. But just as the Government of Antigua and Barbuda has the sovereign right to implement its banking laws, it is also covered under the provisions of the International Business Corporations Act. This ensures that foreigners with bank deposits in the country maintain their rights so long as they obey the legal requirements of offshore banking. There are companies in the United States that assist companies and individuals with offshore banking. They are experienced and licensed entities that know the ins and outs of Antigua offshore banking systems. Offshore Banking provides detailed information on Offshore Banking, Antigua Offshore Banking, Offshore Banking Accounts, Bahamas Offshore Banking and more. Offshore Banking is affiliated with Online Banking Services. How Do I Diet
By Rob Cooper The question "How Do I Diet" can be answered in various ways depending on your goals or your desired outcome. You may want to know how to diet in order to lose 10 pounds in the next few weeks or months for some important event like a wedding, a graduation or to get ready for the beach. How do I diet should be answered, in my humble opinion, on the basis of health. The word diet is synonymous with starving oneself and I dont advise you do that. In fact, what I recommend is to eat as healthy and as clean as possible and use the principle of substitution instead of starving yourself. Your first priority should be to learn about health and nutrition and stop asking how do I diet. Ask yourself, what could I possibly not know about foods that are keeping me from my goal? Youll want to learn about the Power of Protein, good carbohydrates, the importance of water in your diet and the power of your mind to achieve success. Youll want to learn about good fats to add to your diet to help you achieve your goals. How do I diet should be thought of as how do I exercise. Exercise goes hand in hand with your goals of weight loss, if you've got 10 pounds to lose, or losing those last 10 pounds (or first 10 for that matter). Never ever consider dieting without the thought of exercise. ok, so you want to know how to diet. Heres some thoughts from myself, a guy who dropped nearly 300 pounds of fat (so I should know a little bit about what Im talking about) Learn about foods Learn all you can from a variety of sources and never consider any one thing as gospel. Continue to learn, apply what you learn and try new things. Experiment with food. What do I recommend for a starting point? Substitute water for pop. Substitute Herbal teas for Coffee Substitute a mid afternoon snack for your muffin, candy bar or other snacks - Make a small meal out of your mid afternoon munchies. Think lean chicken, some rice and a salad. Begin eating breakfast - Have an egg white omelet with a small serving of oatmeal and some vegetables. Substitute conventional sugar laden cereals with whole grain oatmeal. Begin eating fruit - Have no more than two pieces of fruit per day and have them on an empty stomach. Begin exercising How do I diet? should be replaced with How do I do cardio?. Begin walking at least 20 minutes every day. Morning is best as it helps raise your metabolism early on in the day. Begin some sort of weight training routine to help you not only build muscle but also to help your body to maintain its lean muscle tissue when you change your diet. Muscle burns fat and cardio helps muscle be more efficient at burning fat. Drink more water. Water is your life and the better your water, the better your life. Drink more and use it to replace other non nutritional beverages. Joint Tenancy: How Not to Avoid Probate!
By Phil Craig One of my favorite stories is about the woman who came in for
a consultation about an estate plan. She told me she didn't think she needed a living trust because
when her husband had died, all of their assets had been held in
joint tenancy and all she had to do was record a few affidavits
along with his death certificate, and "poof" the was now the
owner, with no probate. She thought this was so great, she had gone ahead and added her
daughter to all of her real estate as a joint tenant. She
actually prepared and recorded the deeds (she was a retired real
estate broker). I looked them over and sure enough, the daughter
was now on title with the mother as a joint tenant. But now came the real reason she had come to see me. He daughter
had gotten involved with a new man who was one of those protestors
who believe the Internal Revenue Code (and the Internal Revenue
Service) is unconstitutional. In protest, they had decided to stop
paying income taxes or filing income tax returns. Mom was now worried about the deeds she had recorded and
wanted to have her daughter's name removed. Could I help? Well, the first suggestion was to have the daughter sign and record
deeds giving back the joint tenancy interest the mother had given.
Mom had thought of that, but when asked, the daughter told her
mother that she was worrying too much and had nothing to worry
about. She refused to sign the deeds giving back the title. The point? Joint tenancy sure is easy to create, but sure is hard
to end. Once you put your child (or anyone) on title, that piece of property
is considered to be part owned by them and is subject to the
claims of their creditors. Even if the daughter wasn't a tax protestor, if she was in a car
accident and was at fault, the creditor could make a claim against
her interest in the property. Joint Tenancy can "Kill" your Will. Then there is the story about the man who had remarried after his
first wife died. He wanted to leave part of his estate to his
children (from his first marriage) and part to his new wife. He and the new wife loved each other so much they decided to put
all their assets in "joint tenancy" (she didn't have much of
anything, so it was his assets that were changed). Lo and behold, he died unexpectedly from a heart attack and his
children now wanted to receive what they felt they had coming from
his estate. However, those of you who've been through my multi-media course
know that joint tenancy is a very unique form of holding title to
assets or property. The moment one of the joint tenants dies,
his or her interest in the asset ends and the remaining surviving
joint tenant is now the sole owner. So, regardless of what the man's will said, the joint tenancy
holding "killed the will" since the moment the husband died, his
interest in all of his assets died with him. That left nothing in his estate to leave to his children. Sad, but true. I recommended a malpractice action against the lawyer who set
it all up, but it turns out they had done it themselves, using forms. Good luck and until next time, Phil Craig P.S. Do Marketing Gimmicks Work?
By Debbie LaChusa I was on a teleconference with my mastermind group the other day and we were brainstorming to
help one of our group members come up with a name for her new book. She had a title that she
had been using for her ebook and that had been well-received by her clients, and she wanted to
keep that title but expand on it for the next version of the book which was to be published. She also shared with the entire group that she felt she needed a "gimmick" for the book to
attract media attention. She had come up with a gimmick that she felt worked well with her
book content, and that her readers could relate to. She also felt it would generate the media attention she wanted. All good things. Here's where the problem came in. As we were brainstorming we were trying very hard to tie her existing book title - and her
established brand - in with this new "gimmick. We were really struggling to tie the two together in a way that made sense. Every time someone
threw out a suggestion it felt forced. It felt like we were trying to shove a square peg into
a round hole and it just wasn't working. We finally hit a wall with our brainstorming. And I realized something ... that sometimes gimmicks in marketing are good, but if they just
don't fit with your product or service in a way that makes sense, they may be better left out. In her case, the gimmick was proving to be a hurdle. On the other hand, here's an example of a gimmick that worked. In the summer of 2005, my business was just 6 months old. I had been teaching a 10-week
teleclass series, but realized I needed to revamp the class to make it more marketable. I turned to a trend in the marketplace to help package my program so it would generate more attention. Extreme Makeovers were the craze at that time. And when I looked at the work we were doing in
my teleclass series, that's exactly what it was, an Extreme Marketing Makeover. So I renamed my program the Extreme Marketing Makeover Program, shortened it to 6 weeks, focused
the content on the parts of my system that I had found my clients needed the most help with and
started marketing it again. And guess what happened? It attracted the attention of Entrepreneur Magazine, and the program received a write-up in
the magazine. My program received valuable free marketing exposure because it tied in with a trend. It was media coverage I am convinced I wouldn't have received otherwise. But you see, the gimmick "fit" with my program. It made sense. It wasn't forced. So in the end, I guess my biggest piece of advice would be, if a gimmick works, then use it.
But if it doesnt, dont force it. Because it will likely feel forced to your prospective clients
as well. Debbie LaChusa created

Only Ask... And You Will Find Out What He Actually Means
By Annie Kaszina Have you ever listened to a question about your values, or a question like: Whats most important to you in a relationship? and thought: Thats so obvious that I dont even have to think about it? I know I have. Ill admit Ive been guilty of a kind of I know what I think so I dont even have to think about reaction. More than once. Its a sort of knee-jerk I know my own mind reaction. Of course, it begs the question: how do you know, if you dont even think about it? Could anything have changed since last you did think about it, if you ever did? And since thought is hardly an endangered commodity, whats wrong with taking a few moments to explore your own? The chances are youll come up with something really useful. This week I was working with someone who wanted to create a meaningful relationship in her life. She went about it with a lot of courage, she did the best she could and, sadly, ended up with an abusive partner. F. told me that she and her partner had connected more or less immediately. They had a lot of common ground; they had both had a difficult upbringing and been through bad relationships in the past. So there was a fair bit of mutual comprehension. She had taken that to mean not only that there was a lot of empathy and compatibility, but that they both wanted the same things. Like so many women, F. had worked on inference: if he says the kind of things I say, he must feel like I do. Generally, the simplest way to gather information is also the very last resort. If you ask questions you will, most likely, receive answers. The more specific and well thought out the questions, the better the answers are likely to be. This is one case where less is less. More questions will provide you with more information. Somewhere in all the information, you will start to see the vital pointers you need. Sure you have to ask in a non-threatening way. Its not an interrogation. But most people are more than happy to talk about themselves (you might even recognise the interminable bore before its too late). Only ask and people will furnish insights into their core values and the way they see the world. All you need to do is pick up on them. Someones core values, the ones they operate by in the enlightening anecdotes they recount, may not necessarily as reassuring as the ones that they pay lip service to. They may swear by honesty and integrity as principles, especially where you are concerned, but proudly tell stories of cunningly exploiting others. If someone is unwilling to talk about their past history that in itself is a cause for concern. F. was understandably devastated by the breakdown of her relationship. She also felt incredibly foolish. In fact, she had never been stupid, or blind. She had not seen and had not known what made her partner a bad choice, because she had not been taught what to look for. Suppose you were taught from an early age to cross roads without looking. Suppose you were told just to walk out into the path of oncoming cars, that everybody does that and it works just fine. Youd probably believe what you were told and try it. Armed with the misinformation you had, you probably wouldnt register the significance of the head turning other people were doing before they stepped out. Short of being incredibly lucky, youd soon sport the label accident prone always assuming you survived at all. Abused women, like F., are disarmed by all the myths about love and relationships that hold sway in our world. Nobody teaches them that what they dont know about relationships can harm them. Big time. A while back a reader berated me for pointing out that some women are much, much more successful at relationships than others. This reader accused me of suggesting that abused women attract bad things into their life. Clearly, no one in their right mind sets out to attract bad things into their life. Abused women, sadly, lack the training to know when they are in the path of a juggernaut. That is their problem; its certainly not their fault. Wedding Planning: Benefits of Online Wedding RSVPs
By Jennifer Benson Want to manage your wedding guests with style and ease? Forget about multiple checklists and trying to decipher the illegible handwriting sent in by your wedding guests. The days of sorting through scattered mail-back response cards and calculating, then recalculating your guest counts are gone. Thanks to the internet, there's a better way to approach the entire RSVP process for your wedding! Online wedding RSVPs, one of the most recent developments in the wedding industry, have skyrocketed in popularity among brides and grooms looking to efficiently handle their guest list. Receiving RSVPs online is an inexpensive way to stay organized and have a bit of fun with the helpful extras that some online RSVP systems offer. So how can you have your own wedding RSVPs online? It's very easy! There are a few free sites offering a basic RSVP service, or you can purchase a complete personal wedding website which will, among other things, give you the capability to have your wedding RSVPs set up and online in minutes. Other brides and grooms simply choose to include an email address, however, the advantages of a full service wedding RSVP system can be numerous and well worth the small fee. Features to look for with Online Wedding RSVPs: (Note: Prior to ordering, check with your wedding RSVP service provider to confirm that any options of interest to you are available.) 1) Multiple Events - Collect online RSVPs for any multiple events surrounding your wedding, such as RSVPs for: bridal showers, engagement parties, bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinner and gift openings. 2) Print Capabilities - Create and print custom lists of RSVPs and corresponding information to hand out to your wedding planner, bridal party members and caterer. 3) Downloadable Capabilities - Download all RSVPs to a convenient spreadsheet format. Flexible to suit the format you want! 4) Live, Real-Time Data - No waiting! Receive all RSVPs the second they are submitted by your wedding guests. You will enjoy the fast turnaround that is only possible through the internet. In fact, you may even begin to collect RSVPs the same day your wedding guests receive your wedding invitations in the mail! 5) 24/7 Access to all Reports - Online wedding RSVPs work to your schedule and may be received and viewed at any time of day or night, seven days a week. You can even receive RSVPs on the weekend...yet another perk of the online RSVP method versus the postal route! 6) Share and Collect Additional Information - Customize your online wedding RSVP form to collect more than "accept" or "decline" responses from your wedding guests. If your wedding calls for it, customize your RSVP form to collect child care bookings, hotel preferences and more. Or you may choose to share certain information in conjunction with your RSVP form, such as gift registry information, allergy alerts and more. 7) Meal Tracking - If you are having a sit-down dinner, not a buffet, you can easily collect your wedding guests' meal selections by entering an online list of available options. Your wedding guests then indicate their desired meal choice when they submit their RSVP. This is the perfect way to obtain an accurate meal count for your caterer! 8) Auto Confirmation Email - When your wedding guests choose to enter their email address with their RSVP, a confirmation email will be sent affirming that their RSVP was successfully delivered into your account. Wedding guests tend to appreciate the peace of mind that comes along with this feature. 9) Secure Storage - RSVPs and corresponding information are generally stored in a private online account that can only be accessed with your unique username and password. 10) Password Protection - Some RSVP services offer password protection so only invited wedding guests with the correct password may RSVP. 11) Special Messages - Wedding guests can also submit their well-wishes to you when entering their RSVPs online. 12) Accurate Totals - Put your calculator away! Online wedding RSVP systems pull live totals so you can view accurate summaries and always know what your guest count is for "accept" and "decline" responses. Top 2 Benefits of Receiving your Wedding RSVPs Online: 1) Eliminate the need to purchase return postage and RSVP cards. 2) No more worries about lost or delayed RSVP cards in the mail. There's a variety of online wedding RSVP systems available on the internet, varying in price and features, which gives you a wide selection to choose from! Some companies offer advanced online options, while others provide basic but functional RSVP forms. Take advantage of the flexible and accessible options that online wedding RSVPs offer to directly benefit you and your wedding guests! Creative Wedding Ideas - Something A Little Different
By Vicki Churchill Thinking of your own creative wedding ideas can make your wedding both unique and personal not to mention save you a considerable amount of money. When some one attends a wedding they will take into account every detail you have planned from the brides dress to the favors you have placed on the tables. Having several weddings on the horizon within my own family, I thought it would be nice to share some of the creative wedding ideas that have been discussed to help make your wedding perfect and distinctive. Creative Wedding Ideas For FlowersFlorists can be hugely expensive yet flowers are an unavoidable must at any wedding, it is not just the bride who will need flowers for her bouquet, the bridesmaids will also need flowers, along with button holes for the men. You may also want flower arrangements in the church and on the tables at your reception. With all this in mind you will agree the costs will soon mount up. One of the creative wedding ideas I came up with for flowers and how to really cut costs is to grow your own!, Of course you will need plenty of time for this task I would estimate a year before the actual date of the wedding. If you do not have room in your garden ask friends and family to 'lend' you a little of theirs. You will need to decide well in advance what sort of flowers you will want on the day but the end result will be so personal it will be well worth the forward planning. Not to mention the fact the flowers will be totally organic!. Creative Wedding Ideas For PhotosPhotos are a major part of a wedding, photos are will remain with you for a lifetime and will serve as a constant reminder of your wonderful day. Many brides say they can hardly remember the day of their wedding as they were so busy so wedding photos are very important. When discussing creative wedding ideas for photos we discovered that one of our uncles was extremely good at photography, so as a wedding gift we asked if he would take the wedding photos. If you have a friend or someone in your family who fits the bill why not ask them to do the same. It will save you a huge amount of money!. Creative Wedding Ideas For FavorsWhen it comes to creative wedding ideas for favors there are so many!, depending on the time of year and style of your wedding of course. If your wedding is going to be abroad, one of the creative wedding ideas we had for favors was for floating candles, in the shape of a sandal or flip flop!, they are fun and look fantastic! And with all the candle making kits available now you could easily make your own. There are so many creative wedding ideas you will not have to search for long to find something to make your wedding perfect. Vicki Churchill is the owner of Wedding Table Ideas, a site that specializes in Wedding Centerpiece, Wedding Table, Wedding Decorations, Seating Plans & all your wedding needs. And Diamond Rings including how, where & what to buy. She's Come Undone - Hair and Makeup Trends Straight From the Spring Runways!
By Tara Mattarazzo Early-morning workouts notwithstanding, faded makeup and unkempt hair are usually more closely associated with sluggishness than sex appeal. But at the spring 2006 shows in New York, Milan, and Paris, underdone beauty made a memorable appearance on virtually every runway. The effect: a confident, self-assured woman whose seeming spontaneity only adds to her allure. Fortunately, this seasons take on au natural isnt for flawlessly skinned supermodels only; the following ten trends are sprinkled with enough flattering twists that any woman can pull them off with aplomb. In the Nude Underscoring fashions return to minimalism, spring makeup was decidedly more discreet than any wed seen for seasons. The goal is to create an is she or isnt she? look, says makeup artist Viviane Hidalgo of Miamis Primal Studio. For most women, that means using a concealer, a primer, and a moisturizer mixed with foundation to achieve good coverage. In real life, a look completely devoid of color can run the risk of looking deadly, so Hidalgo urges women to use a subtle shade to emphasize their best feature. If youve got great eyes, for example, add a little definition in the corner, she suggests. On the Runway: At Chlo, models wore only a smidge of liner along the top lash line; at Balenciaga, freshly scrubbed faces were enhanced with hints of carefully chosen color; and at BCBG Max Azria and Christian Dior, makeup was barely there at all. Best Bets: Maybelline New York Revitalizing Concealer, Laura Mercier Oil-Free Foundation, Olay Complete Moisturizer, M.A.C. Prep + Prime Skin Rope Trick Each season seems to spawn a signature hairstyle, and for spring, braids were the models crowning glory. If you havent worn them since the sixth grade, however, you may want to look before you leap. Its a very young look, says Kim Lpine of the Lpine New York salon. If youre young and funky, you should do them everywhere, allover, she recommends. For older or more sophisticated ladies, Lpine suggests a single braid toward the back of the head as an elegant detail for a bun or an updo. On the Runway: Funky cornrows ruled the L.A.M.B. runways; at Rochas, hair was plaited into skinny, princess-worthy halos; Viktor & Rolfs stylists opted for ropey, oversize versions; and at Calvin Klein, strands were swept into a single loose, low-maintenance braid. Best Bets: Goody Exquisite Rat Tail Comb, Mason-Pearson Brush, Biosilk Silk Therapy, Sebastian Shaper Hairspray Hot Lips In a season of understatement, some makeup artists relied on ruby lips to add a dose of dramaa classic, glamorous look that makeup artist Troy Surratt loves. A bold, sexy red lip is especially perfect for winter, he maintains. Whats more, you dont need to be scared of it. If youre using a red lip, just remember to play down the rest of your face. On the Runway: Lips were a matte cherry at Alessandro DellAcqua, a glossy rich scarlet at Costume National, and a warmer tomato shade at Emanuel Ungaro. Best Bets: Maybelline New York Moisture Extreme in Royal Red, Chanel Le Crayon Gloss in Grenadine, Urban Decay Pleather Pencil in Kink, Nars Lipstick in Heat Wave Heavy Metal Sparkly shadows in shades of gold, silver, and bronze made a strong showing on virtually every runway. According to Surratt, shimmer can play up anyones eyes, and golden shades tend to be the most flattering. The key, he emphasizes, is dolling out the dazzle in small doses: Be sure to keep the shadow on the lid, and use only a tiny bit to highlight your brow bone. On the Runway: At Alberta Ferretti, golden shadows highlighted the eyes inner corners, darkening to bronze at the browbone; Anna Sui used just a hint of sheen on the lids and lower lash lines; Chanel opted for a futuristic silvery shade; and John Gallianos metallics (in keeping with the couture) took a Felliniesque turn. Best Bets: Maybelline New York Roller Color in In-Line Ice, Bare Escentuals Foiling Glimmers, Girlactik Beauty Sparkle Eye Liner Set, Benefit Show Offs Brown-Eyed Girl Springs mink, sienna, and sable eye shadows proved that browns are anything but boring. Its a nice balance between nude and made-up, and there are a bazillion browns to choose from, says Bobbe Joy of the Bobbe Joy Makeup Studio in Beverly Hills. To amp up a neutral shadow, add a line of gold or iridescent shadow from the lashes to the crease, right down the center of the lid, she says. Its still a natural look, but it really opens up the eye. On the Runway: At Andrew Gn, eyes were enhanced with a warm walnut; at Celine, makeup artists opted for an offbeat ochre shade; Moschinos chocolate shadows were coated with glitter across the crease; and at Vera Wang, eyes were swept with a more unassuming ecru. Best Bets: Cargo Eye Shadow in Cocoa Beach; Cover Girl Eye Enhancers in Mink; Too Faced Eyeshadow Duo in Full Frontal; and Afterglow Multitasking Eye Shadows in Champagne Shimmer, Dune, and Coco Pretty Slick Despite its gangster associations, slicked-back strands looked surprisingly fresh and pretty on the runways. In real lifewithout a team of stylists at your disposalthe look is best suited to those with thin, fine, or straight hair, says hairstylist Lindsay Rider of the Bang Salon in Washington, D.C. Assuming you have the appropriate hair type, start by coating freshly washed strands with a smoothing cream, then blow-dry and finish with a shine spray. To ensure an end result thats sleek, not slimy, use less product in the beginning, Rider suggests; you can always add more later on if you need to. On the Runway: Hair was swept into shiny ponys at Chloe and Prada; Narciso Rodriguez used glossy strands to create an ultramodern French twist; and Alexander McQueen split the difference, slicking back strands in front and leaving them loose in the back. Best Bets: Tigi Bedhead After-Party Smoothing Cream, Frdric Fekkai Glossing Cream, Redken Vinyl Glam 02 Mega Shine Spray, Citre Shine Mist Anti-Frizz Spray Laminator Doll Face Continuing a trend that began last fall, makeup artists relied on rosy blushes to give the models a fresh, pretty glow. For a convincing flush, rather than80s-style racing streaks, selecting the right product is key. You want to avoid pigments that are too heavy for your skin tone, Hildago explains. Creams and stains tend to work better on skin without enlarged pores, while powders tend to complement less-perfect complexions. In either case, you should use a round motion to get good blending, and remove any excess with a tissue, she adds. On the Runway: Carolina Herreras models got a healthy pale-pink flush, while Zac Posens and Anna Molinaris were treated to a more intense rosy shade. Best Bets: Chanel Joues Contraste Blush in Rose Bronze, Nars Orgasm Blush, Fresh Blush Powder in Charm School, Cargo Blush in Topeka Smudge Report Thin is eternally in on the catwalk, but at the spring shows, makeup artists eschewed skinny sweeps of liner in favor of thick, more imprecise spoltches. According to Hildago, blurring the lines beautifully is largely a matter of choosing the right the product. To achieve a diffused look, use a soft kohl pencil to rim the eye, she says. Black can be very intense, so depending on your coloring, you may want to try a neutral brown or taupe instead. On the Runway: At Donna Karen, eyes were enhanced with a smudge of black liner on the inner corners and an abridged cats-eye on top; at Givenchy, the lines were thicker and more intense, continuing around the entire eye; and at Louis Vuitton, dark lines were seamlessly blended with progressively lighter shadows on the lids and brow bones. Best Bets: Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner in Black, M.A.C. Eye Kohl Liner in Smolder, Benefit Bad Gal Liner, Estee Lauder Artists Eye Pencil in Softsmudge Black Wet 'n' Mild On many runways, makeup artists used lip glosses to give neutral palettes a dewy sheen. To give your gloss more staying power, first prep your lips with a bit of foundation, Surratt says. Then line them with a shade very close to your natural lip color, and fill in with a light gloss. The liner, Surratt explains, will prevent the gloss from bleeding on to the rest of your face. And if you opt for a nude, lustrous lip, play up your eyes, and add a little highlighter to your cheeks, he suggests. On the Runway: Pouts got a pale-pink polish at Behnaz Sarafpour, a rosy sheen at J. Mendel, and a coral-colored glaze at MaxMara. Best Bets: Giorgio Armani Fluid Sheer Foundation, Clinique Sheer Shaper for Lips in Blushy, Stila Lip Polish in Glisten, Smashbox Lip Gloss in Shoot Bronze Age For years now, makeup artists have used self-tanners and bronzers to give porcelain-skinned models a faux glow. But for the past few seasons, weve seen the fad evolve into a subtler, more believable bakea trend that continued on the spring runways. Self-tanners and bronzers can give nice color, Joy says, but they tend to have a lot of orangey tones, so you need to choose the right one. One size definitely does not fit all, especially if youre pale. For a more realistic glow, use a blush on the apples of the cheeks, too, she suggests. And remember, your head is sitting on your neck, so dont forget to apply these products to your neck, shoulders, and dcolletage. On the Runway: Skin was tawny Michael Kors, a rosier glow at Oscar de la Renta, and glowing bronze at Versace. Best Bets: Jergens Natural Glow, Clarins Liquid Bronze, Bobbi Brown Bronzer and Blush Duo, Stephane Marais Bronzing Powder A Fine Mess Deliberately disheveled manes provided a chic contrast to slick strands and cascading curls at the spring shows. According to Lpine, getting a sexy just-rolled-out-of-bed look requires a careful balance between chaos and control. Use soft-hold products, like light gels, waxes, and pomades, to give the mess some order, she says. At that point, you can leave it loose or secure the hair discreetly with pins for a casual updo. On the Runway: Strands were messy and sexed-up at Libertine; pulled into haphazard updos at Luca Luca; and left loose and wavy at Roberto Cavalli and Missoni. Best Bets: Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, John Frieda Beach Blonde Ocean Sea Waves, Aveda Purefume Brillant Humectant Pomade, Matrix Biolage Shaping Crme Wax Tara Mattarazzo is the editor-in-chief of Beauty Addict Magazine http://beautyaddictmag.com For more articles on beauty, hair care, skin care, makeup, fashion, shopping, fitness, women's health, and more, visit the Beauty Addict Magazine features page at: http://beautyaddictmag.com/thescoop/features/featureindex.html Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Tara_Mattarazzo http://EzineArticles.com/?Shes-Come-Undone---Hair-and-Makeup-Trends-Straight-From-the-Spring-Runways!&id=156519 buy real xanax overnight with online culsultation prescriptions

Find A Job In A Fast Growing Field Using Labor Market Information For Your State
By Chuck Huckaby The question confronting most people who want to find a job is "what's a good paying job with growth potential?" At one time, the Conestoga wagon building trade boomed as people joined the wagon trains heading west. Today, the boom is long gone and those wanting to find a job with a future will most likely wish to stay away from such a field. So how can you find a job that will reasonably be expected to thrive in the future either in your home state or the state in which you choose to reside? One key is through using Labor Market Information to research potential jobs as you create a long term plan to find the job you feel is ideal for your skills and interests. Your first step to find a job with potential is to use the free service available at "America's Career InfoNet" a website sponsored by the U.S. Department of Labor. To find a job with growth potential in your state, visit this state by state database. (This opens in a new window so you will not lose the instructions on how to find a job with potential on this page when you click the link!) After you've searched for a particular state - we'll use Alabama as an example - here's what you'll find... 1) Basic demographic information under these headings: (Again, these are for Alabama.) Demographic Information: 2001 Population 4,468,900 2002 Labor Force 2,102,800 2002 Unemployment Rate 5.9% 2002 Median Household Income $37,600 2001 Per Capita Income $24,500 You'll be able to see how the state ranks nationally and you'll be able to check unemployment rates by county just to know what you're up against in your job search for a particular county! 2) The next step to find a job in a growing occupation is to choose the kind of growth occupation you have in mind. Your options will be... Fastest growing occupations Occupations with the most openings Occupations with the largest employment Occupations with declining employment Highest paying occupations At this point in your career search you'll also be asked to choose the level of education you're willing to achieve to enhance your income. The options listed are... Overall Requiring only work experience or on-the-job training Requiring post-secondary training or an associate's degree Requiring a bachelor's degree or higher Click the appropriate button to make your selections and then you can hit "search" to find a job with growth potential. In this case we'll select "Fastest growth" and "overall" educational requirements. When you search to find a job with these criteria, you'll receive results based on the fastest growth in sheer number of jobs and you'll receive listings that may require no education beyond high school up to jobs requiring a two year community college or vocational school training program or 4 year bachelor's degree. What do you see when you do the job information search? You see the first 25 of (for Alabama) 513 fastest growing jobs as determined by the number of jobs that will be available between 2000 and 2010. As might be expected the job with the highest growth prospects for Alabama is computer software engineering and applications. By clicking on the job itself you find the "Occupation Report" for that state. You'll learn a wealth of information about this particular job and be able to watch an online job video showing you just what a particular job involves. Since you want to find a job with good income potential, you'll see - on average - the kind of money people in this job make in the particular state and nationwide based on government labor market information. Now let's try to find a job that's in the "Highest Paying" category but only requiring a 2 year training program at the most. What job's come up? Hint: They'll be listed by the highest pay expressed (when possible) as an HOURLY wage and then an ANNUAL WAGE for the job you find in Hourly/Annual format. For Alabama (the answer may vary for your state) the Top 10 are: 1 Commercial Pilots N/A /$59,100 2 Computer Specialists, All Other $24.52/$51,000 3 Electrical and Electronics Repairers, Powerhouse, Substation, and Relay $23.59/$49,100 4 Radiation Therapists $22.67/$47,200 5 Electrical and Electronics Drafters $22.02/$45,800 6 Aerospace Engineering and Operations Technicians $21.98/$45,700 7 Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technicians $21.71/$45,200 8 Appraisers and Assessors of Real Estate $21.16/$44,000 9 Ship Engineers $21.13/$44,000 10 Telecommunications Equipment Installers and Repairers, Except Line Installers $20.79/$43,200 Again, you can click on the job titles you find and go directly to an occupational report. By using Labor Market Information, you can find a job with high growth potential, high wages, and usually a training requirement that involves only 2 years of training or less beyond high school. Remember, you do not necessarily need a traditional 4 year degree to find a job with high growth potential. You DO need specific skills however not more "underwater basket weaving courses" at college that are unrelated to a specific field. 4 year degrees are nice and even graduate degrees are important to find a job in some fields. But increasingly, 2 year specialized programs are dominating the field as far as improving wages. Unity-in-Diversity: A Holistic Paradigm for Interreligious Dialogue
By Sandi Fults The following is an argument for a means of compassionate communication among religions, applying a holistic or unifying regard for the similarities and differences that are essential characteristics for faith life in the global age. Diversity is an opportunity, a celebration. Diversity is not a threat to the worlds religions. Rather, it is a reflection of the diverse union of the Godhead. Avoidance of the central fact that there are diverse faith traditions, which have value in the theological sense, is a primary cause for conflict at every level of human interaction. In the field of interreligious dialogue, primary theories and principles guide the issue. Doctrine is inevitable and necessary for a religion. Creeds and dogma to which they point give definition to religion, simultaneously limiting and isolating adherents from those of other religions. Doctrine belongs to a religions diversity aspect (which is not solely defined by doctrine. Diversity includes other characteristics such as culture, history, etc.). Unity is a non-temporal, non-spatial (eternal, infinite) aspect that is transcendent and immanent to the diverse elements of faith that distinguish one religion from another. Basic assumptions guide debate about dialogue among the worlds religions. These assumptions include a conviction that interreligious dialogue has a vital role in the quest for world peace. For another, doctrinal differences among religions can be reconciled or accommodated without compromising doctrines essential utility to religions. Dogmatism leads to intolerance. More than one faith model can have ultimate value. Theoretical frameworks that guide this position: Cultural, historical and personal conditions are necessary considerations, which are informed and structured by an individuals or a religions faith experience and vice verse. The One Reality, whether known as God, Trinity, Allah, Brahman, Nibbana, Yahweh, etc., reveals itself or is revealed within the context of such considerations. However, that Reality is not limited to the conditioned ways in which the faithful refer to it. Unreasonable attachment to the letter (dogma) rather than the spirit (faith) of doctrine results in exclusivism, self-proclaimed superiority and isolation. These results are antithetical to a religions proclaimed objectives to realize alignment with the One and perpetuate dangerous illusion. Caution: A sanitized one world religion, whether it be Islam, Christianity, or some amorphous other religion, contradicts the overwhelming and diverse evidence to the contrary that the world and its peoples are created in and best served by an atmosphere of diversity. Relevant research investigates the social implications of interreligious dialogue, the possibilities and effectiveness of moving beyond doctrine, and theological support for the Trinity as a unity-in-diversity paradigm for the worlds great spiritual traditions, especially institutional religions. Additional research investigates Christian and extra-Christian mystical traditions and the relevance of right and left-brain hemisphere functions. Theological issues are primary factors that guide debate and investigation into the possibilities for interreligious dialogue. If a religion defines itself as the exclusive conduit to God, salvation, enlightenment or whatever, then that definition is theologically founded. The concern in certain religions is that a given tradition will lose its central defining cause for existence. For example, Christianity is grounded in Christs Gospel imperative to spread the Good News. Is it possible for Christianity to broaden its doctrinal perspective to include a unity-in-diversity model in its consideration of non-Christian religions without sacrificing central articles of Christian faith? Some Christian theologians argue that the most central Christian dogma, the Trinity, is paradigm for unity-in-diversity model of religions. Conversely, Trinitarian theology and Christology often are raised as central theological areas that prevent inclusion of the worlds religions as receptacles of similar value and truth. An urgent question: Can Christianity accept as either similarly valid a religion that neither requires nor demands that its adherents embrace salvation, let alone salvation solely through Christs redemptive event? How is the Trinity present to the world and its religions? Must the religions accept the Trinity, as does Christianity, as Father, Son and Holy Spirit or do non-Christian models for salvation, enlightenment or liberation have ultimate equal value to the Christian model? At the heart of this debate or controversy, depending on where one stands, are problems that misguide efforts to penetrate depth of the issue. Any doctrine necessarily casts distinctions. In the collective religious comprehension of some people of faith, their way is true and only. An us vs. them mentality permeates the core of institutional religion. This creates resistance that is difficult, if not impossible to relieve at the discursive level. Additionally, how do faithful adherents of a religion learn to discern the value of church as institution (rational, discursive) and as faith in the Divine as immanent and transcendent (intuitive, experiential)? Perhaps the most difficult problem is that an attempt to convey a new vision of life is limited by language and other restrictive factors, some conscious, some unconscious. Answers to this predicament wait on human exploration in the non-rational realms of Reality, mystical exploration. In truth, all verbal attempts to comprehend one another are servants, not masters of non-verbal experience. The most apparent issue for interreligious dialogue is that certain religions are convinced that their ways are the one true way to God and that other religions are incomplete in comparison. Any attempts at analysis or reasonable defense fail, for, invariably, there is an equal and opposite defense. The most effective theological inquiry focuses on a unity-in-diversity model, which maintains that all life is an interrelated web. Each and every element has the potential to provide strength and substance to the whole web. This is an appropriate and effective approach to interreligious dialogue. The image opens the mind to possibilities that break down barriers to dialogue and to peace. Mystical investigation and experience allows rational and intuitive brain functions to find balance. The process is summarized by S. Radhakrishnan: "In every man there is a ray of the eternal light emanating from the Central Sun. When we love man, we are conscious of our unity with him in the central spirit and we give effect to this consciousness in our lives." (1) Religions ought to recognize that their creedal and doctrinal forms represent constructs that are primarily harvested from rational consciousness. These forms constitute the primary materials that theologians use in their arguments for and against the ways and means of interreligious dialogue. Additionally, theological inquiry of rational constructs is itself a rational, albeit necessary, endeavor. Therefore, intuitive methods and comprehension are largely subjugated by rational domination. Some approaches that help achieve balance between human rational and intuitive knowing include immersion in sacred texts of other religions and concerted efforts to practice ones own religions contemplative path. Sacred texts provide mythological and poetic languages that reside in intuitive domains. Contemplative practice is direct experience beyond the discursive mind. Balance between the brains rational and intuitive functions is a crucial factor for the interreligious dialogue process. Theological inquiry and creative investigation into ones own and the other create opportunities to realize what already is true: The worlds religions are integral elements of an existent unity-in-diversity reality. However, before individuals and religions can awaken to what is, they must strive to access the vast region of faith that resides within the mindthat mysterious, yet central common denominator of all people. As the late Dom Bede Griffiths writes, "In each religion the divine Reality is manifested under different signs and symbols and we need to be able to discern this hidden Truth in each religious tradition. Each has something to contribute to human understanding and to human fulfillment." (2) 1. Radhakrishnan, S., Indian Religions (New Delhi, India: Orient Paperbacks, 1979) 61-62.

Quickest Way to Burn Fat - The Secret to Looking Sexy Fast
By Tom Gifford The quickest way to burn fat is something that millions of people all over the world are looking for on a daily basis. If I asked you if you knew the quickest way to burn fat, what would you say? The media would say it is some brand new miracle fat loss pill, some miracle exercise gimmicks, some new fad diet, or some kind of pre delivered meal that you just have to heat up. The truth is, all of the above are great ways to lose weight temporarily, but are not great ways to burn fat permanently. There is a big difference between the two! If you just lose weight, you will lose water weight as well as muscle mass. If you do lose fat, it will likely come back on very quickly. If you lose fat, then you preserve and hopefully increase your muscle mass while losing fat all over your body! So what is the best way to do this? The answer is actually pretty simple. You may know it already, but before I tell you what it is you should understand something. How do you know if you really know something? To put it bluntly, if you live it then you know it! If you say "I already knew that", then you may need to evaluate how willing you are to learn new things.
So here we go. The quickest way to burn fat is to have the right combination of reduced calories through diet combined with an increased metabolism through exercise. Now before you leave this article and go searching for something that gives you some empty hyped filled promise, you need to know that I am on your side! I don't want you to think the quickest way to burn fat is to try some quick fix. We all want results in our lives that are fast and painless, but losing fat is one of those things where you really get out what you put into it. Here are some basic guidelines to follow if you want to know the quickest way to burn fat: 1. DIET Eat 4-6 small meals per day that consists of the right portions of good protein, complex carbs, and healthy fats. Avoid high glycemic "bad" carbs as much as possible. Drink plenty of water and know it is ok to cheat in moderation. REASON: This will help to keep you from getting too hungry, will reduce your overall calories, and will keep your blood sugar regulated. 2. EXERCISE Do interval training instead of long "same speed" cardio routines Add lean muscle mass by doing total body strength training sessions 2-3 times per week. Do not just use the strength training machines at the gym. REASON: To burn calories and increase your metabolism. As you can see, the quickest way to burn fat has nothing to do with one gadget that the infomercials try to sell you. To burn fat the quickest way possible, you need to learn more about the principles I listed above and then go ahead and put them into action! To learn more about how to burn fat using these principles, go to the links below. Good luck and remember that persistence pays off =) Want to Reprint this Article? Research Skills
By Sharon White Planning of your research should start with your assignment task. Read your assignment topic and description several times until you remember well what you are going to write about. Then think of what information you need to complete the task and outline it in a form of questions and thesis lines. This outline will help you to not wander while searching the information needed. Moreover, the preliminary outlines can usually present the structure of your future essay that helps you find out what exact words, phrases, articles and related topics you need to search. Once you have finished with your planning and outline you may start searching information. Here your computer user skills are extremely necessary because present days libraries, encyclopedias, reviews, critiques, articles and other support materials are available online. Such large online libraries as Encyclopaedia Britannica, Wikipedia and others contain continuously updated and extensive information in almost all areas of study and research. However, use online encyclopedias for searching definitions and explanations only. If you are willing to use encyclopedia articles do not copy them, try to use your own phrases and express your own understanding of the terms. This will help you avoid plagiarism and develop your analytical, vocabulary and structuring skills. For more information try search engines which provide immediate search results from hundred thousand of sources available online. At present times such search engines as google and yahoo work well for extensive and useful search results. Once you have got search results do not download everything you open onto your computer! There will be thousands of results when you need just a few to support your essay. To find out which sources will be needful start reading the online material the search engine has found for you. Here good reading skills come. Before start reading remember the assignment task, topic and description, and review your outlines. Then open the sources offered by search engines as a result of your words and phrases search. As you are presented by thousands of search results the particular reading skills are needed. To find useful information quickly do not read the whole article or a book chapter. For articles you may use headlines and first-and-last sentences reading. Online books often have outlines, summaries and reviews which help you find the very chapter, paragraph or sentence to be used. Once you have found interesting and useful abstracts download them on your computer in one file you will have a one document which will contain quotes, abstracts and comments to support your essay. While reading what you have gathered highlight the most important statements and leave your own comments in brackets (outlines will help you find out which statement should be used in each paragraph of your own essay). Then read the support materials document again to interpret collected material in your own statements and phrases. If you feel the author presented ideas better than you did, use quotes and cite this author properly in your essay. The article was produced by the writer of masterpapers.com.

Salary and Benefits Basics
By Mansi Aggarwal In todays scenario when the escalating prices are touching the sky, it becomes essential that your salary is able to provide you a satisfactory life in which all your basic necessities and a little more than that are comfortably met. But this actually does not happen. The salary structure progresses on a snails pace while the prices of commodities scale new heights. The question is what an individual should do in such a situation. The answer is the perks or the benefits that a company offers with the basic salary. The perks that are supplemented with the basic salary are a source of relief. A job that offers a basic salary of $90,000 per annum without any bonus should be discarded for a job that fetches you $84,000 with monthly benefits. These perks are significant not just for the money factor but for the important aspects that they account for during our life. For instance the dental insurance takes care for all the expenses related to dental problems that the employee confronts after joining the company. Thus, perks lend the employee a more or less carefree life. They provide him with the biggest assistance i.e. financial and that too in some of the most expensive areas. Hence, perks are unbelievably significant. But all the companies and businesses do not offer these benefits. Moreover, the kinds of benefits vary from workplace to workplace. Like the bank employees are benefited with medical assistance, travel perks during vacations, insurance etc. Whereas many a multinational companies and corporations provide perks on daily basis that primarily include the expense of food and commutation charges. Some of the chiefly significant and common benefits are listed below- 401(k) planis meant to relieve the employee from the burden of taxation by the government. This plan is too fruitful in the long run for it enables the employee to make good stabilized savings throughout his job. This benefit is available only to those working in the private and not the government sector. 403(b) planis also of tremendous helps in saving money for retirement that is purged of all taxation but only till the time of its withdrawal. For once an individual retires and starts using the money from the 403(b) account, the income through it will be subject to regular taxation. There are certain other differences also between the 401(k) and 403 (b) plans. The 403(b) plan is meant for those who are employed under as per the IRS definition of businesses that are organized and working specifically for the religious, charitable, public safety testing, scientific, literary or educational purposes. Besides this the 401(k) pan allows investment in stocks while the 403(b) does not. Insurance facility- many employers bestow their employees with the insurance benefits. These benefits are extremely useful during the period when the employee is incapable to work and needs financial aid by sitting at home. Some companies offer full insurance coverage to their employees while there are others that provide with a comparatively limited coverage to the new recruitments. This coverage however gradually increases with the working years of the worker. Under the insurance facility are also included insurances like- disability insurance, dental insurance, short and long term disability etc. Healthcare benefits are included in the compensation package. There are various healthcare packages with different scope. The usual health care plans are HMOs, PPOs, and POSs. Vacation packages are also offered annually by some companies. In this benefit the company provides you with a certain amount of money that you can utilize in holidaying with your family. In case a trip is not on your itinerary, the money can act as a saving, as per the rules of the company. The Severance Package is active under the situation when the individual loses his job without any of his fault. This is not just extremely helpful to the employee but also saves any kind of legal action against the employer. Besides these, many multinational companies serve their efficient and crucial employees with a house, free phone calls and pick and drop facilities. Mansi aggarwal writes about salaries and benefits. Law Enforcement Equipment
By Kristy Annely Law enforcement agencies, commonly called the police, are tasked by the government to protect and serve the people. Proper equipment is a vital component of an effective law enforcement body. Standard equipment issued to a police officer includes a gun, a holster for the gun, handcuffs, a nightstick, and a two-way transmission radio. The gun issued is only to be used if the officer is fired at. By no means should a police officer shoot first shot unless he or the other people around him are in danger. The handcuffs are to be used to restrain an assailant. The nightstick is a non-lethal weapon that an officer can utilize to defend himself. A traffic enforcer is assigned a radar gun used to determine the speed of vehicles. To keep the peace during a riot, police officers are issued helmets and shields to protect them while they control the crowd. If the crowd becomes too unruly, the officers might be forced to use tear gas or to borrow water cannons from the fire department. But tear gas is not only used by riot police. It is actually a standard part of the arsenals assigned to a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) officer. SWAT members are assigned more specialized weaponries for the most dangerous missions. The situations that these officers engage in are often life-threatening. They are issued bulletproof vests and night vision goggles. Members of the SWAT team do not always go directly to the front lines. If necessary, they can attack from afar using sniper rifles. Equipment does not make an officer. Using police equipment requires sufficient training, discipline, and the ability to make the right decisions in a split-second. Law Enforcement provides detailed information on Law Enforcement, Law Enforcement Jobs, Law Enforcement Training, Law Enforcement Equipment and more. Online Chess: Play Anyone, Anywhere, Anytime!
By Eriani Doyel Have you ever played online chess? If you havent you should know that it is a fun way to build your chess skills while enjoying one of the greatest games ever invented. The internet has revolutionized the way we do everything, even the way we enjoy our leisure time. Online chess is just one more example of this. You can play online chess with someone sitting in the house next door, or someone who lives continents away. Even though many people prefer to play chess with someone face to face, online chess is one way that you can play anytime of day or night without searching for a partner. One of the first considerations when you are looking for an online chess site is the price. There are quite a few free chess sites where you can play games and even in tournaments for free. This is a very good option if you are still a beginning chess player or if you are looking for an online chess site for your child (there are kid-specific sites as well.) However the graphics and features on these sites may not be quite as advanced as those on the paid subscription sites. These online chess sites may also have more ads and pop-ups, so you would need to make sure that they are safe for children if it is not a child-specific site. Most paid subscription sites will offer a trial period of a certain amount of days or games played. You may be required to enter credit card information when you apply for the trial period, so this is something you may want to think carefully about. A paid subscription to an online chess site can cost anywhere from under $10 up to $60 a year. Some subscriptions (both free and paid) have premium membership plans which will have an additional charge. These sites are good if you are really a serious player an you want better features and graphics with fewer advertisements. One note: some sites will allow you to search around the site without a log-in or registration of any kind, while others do not allow you to access many of the features unless you give them some personal information first. You may want to look at a site which reviews chess sites to see which ones have the features you are looking for. Then, you can play in tournaments, play the same player over and over, or play a random player. On many sites you can choose the skill level at which you want to play. Tips for Pubic Hair Removal
By Chonticha Marijne Pubic hair removal is a tricky endeavor no matter which way you look at it. Pubic hair removal is not only a 'fashion statement' these days; it's become a matter of personal hygiene. Before you start however, there are a few things to remember and pointers to learn to make the pubic hair removal process as efficient and painless as possible. There are two methods of pubic hair removal: wet or dry shaving. Each has advantages and drawbacks. For wet shaving, using traditional shaving tools and shaving cream will get you the results you're after, but it's easier if you trim hairs to about a quarter of an inch before shaving for pubic hair removal, and if possible, use an electric shaver. It goes without saying that if you use a scissors to trim pubic hair, use due caution. Before preparing for pubic hair removal with the wet shaving method, soften the pubic hairs first. Taking a warm shower will do. Softening the hairs facilitates shaving. Always, use some sort of shaving lotion or gel prior to shaving for pubic hair removal or uncomfortable results will follow. Pubic hair removal is made easier by shaving in the direction of hair growth. Some people like to shave in the opposite direction to get a closer shave and smoother feel, but this can cause irritation and ingrown hairs, an unpleasant prospect in such a sensitive area! Refrain from repeatedly shaving the same area, as two or three strokes should be enough. After completing the pubic hair removal process, remember to exfoliate. Clean the shaved area with warm water and body soap to keep pores open. Clogged pores lead to infections and ingrown hairs. Following that, make sure you moisturize, avoiding lotions or oils that contain a fragrance or colors until later. Powdering can complete the after pubic hair removal process for a soothing effect. When opting for dry pubic hair removal, again trim the hair prior to shaving. Again, soften pubic hairs by showering or applying a cloth dampened with warm water. Make sure the area is dry before proceeding with pubic hair removal using this method. The next step is to sprinkle talcum powder over the area to be shaved. Using talcum powder absorbs sweat and oil at the same time, but make sure it's rinsed off after completion and also make sure that your skin isn't sensitive to talcum before doing this. Try not to let the powder get inside body passages. The next step in this pubic hair removal process is to shave stubble. As with the wet shaving pubic hair removal method, exfoliate upon completion to clean away hairs and prevent clogged pores, and then moisturize. Another method for pubic hair removal done at home or salons and is called a Brazilian wax. While this method of pubic hair removal produces the longest lasting effects, it is also the most uncomfortable and is also expensive. No matter which method you choose for pubic hair removal, make sure you take the time to pre-moisten the area and then follow with moisturizing for comfort. Is pubic hair removal a struggle for you? The Very Best Diet Tips
By Chris Chenoweth Most Americans do not live a healthy lifestyle. Our lives are rushed, stressed and not conducive to healthy eating habits. As a result we eat on the run, eat the wrong foods, and do not get enough exercise. No wonder we are overweight and unhealthy. There are dozens of diets that promise to be the right one for you. With so many to choose from, its no wonder we get confused and discouraged. To complicate matters, the best diet for you may not be the best for someone else. However, the following diet tips work for everyone and can be very effective for losing weight and keeping it off. 1. DRINK LOTS AND LOTS OF WATER, at least 8 glasses per day. Sipping it throughout the day is more beneficial than guzzling 8 ounces at a time. Water flushes harmful toxins out of your body, speeds up metabolism, and makes it easier to lose weight and burn fat. 2. EAT BREAKFAST. You MUST eat breakfast as this revs up your metabolism and gets you through the morning. Eat smaller meals throughout the rest of the day. Your smallest meal should be dinner but NEVER skip a meal. You do not want to be a starve by day binge by night dieter. It is very hard on your body. 3. WATCH YOUR PORTIONS. Do not eat super-size meals either at home or when you eat out. Most restaurants serve portions that are much too large. Eat half and take the other half home to eat for lunch the next day. 4. GET ENOUGH VEGGIES AND FRUIT. Make sure your plate is one-half vegetables and/or fruit. Dont like vegetables and fruit? Whip up a fruit smoothie in your blender, have a glass of vegetable juice or fix a pot of vegetable soup. Do whatever works for you. 5. AVOID SUGAR. If you must eat something sweet, suck on hard candy or eat a sugar-free ice cream bar. Your body stores excess sugar as fat. Remember that when you want something that is sugar-laden. 6. DO NOT EAT AFTER DINNER. If you must munch at night, eat negative calories foods like broccoli, celery, carrots, apples, kiwis, leeks or radishes. These foods require more calories for digestion and absorption than the actual calories they contain, hence, negative calories foods. 7. NEVER EAT IN FRONT OF THE TV. If eating at night in front of the TV is your downfall, you must change your nightly schedule. Find a hobby that will keep you busy like reading, working puzzles, listening to music, playing games with your kids, taking a long walk, or anything that will pull you away from the TV. The important thing is to stay busy and take your mind off of food! 8. NEVER EAT WHEN YOU ARE STRESSED. Take a long hot bath, listen to some soothing music, take a long walk, meditate, or whatever works best for you. When you eat in a stressed state, you are usually not even aware of how much you are eating. That can be hazardous to your waistline and your health! 9. ALWAYS LISTEN TO YOUR BODY. It will let you know when it is hungry. 10. YOU MUST EXERCISE. There are no excuses. Try to incorporate movement into everyday activities like housecleaning, working in the yard, walking the dog, taking the stairs instead of the elevator, etc. Walking is the easiest and most effective exercise and can be done inside or outside. Do no let yourself get discouraged. Your goal should be to lose 1 or 2 pounds every week. If you go a week or two without losing any pounds, its alright. If you do not gain any weight, consider it a successful week. The changes you make should be maintained for the rest of your life. To make it easier on yourself, NEVER think of it as a diet. Consider it a brand new lifestyle that will make you feel better, look better, and be healthier.
